Thermal modernization and the implementation of energy efficiency measures are the way to rapidly upgrade the regions and achieve energy independence for our country.
The visit of ONOVA League members to Bessarabia was dedicated to the effective implementation of thermal modernization.
The founding meetings with representatives of Borodyn, Tarutyn, Artsyz, and Teplyk communities of Bolhrad district of Odesa region were held by the League's chief coordinator, Chairman of the Board of PU UFEES Yehor Stefanovych and Energy Efficiency Coordinator Oleksandr Zalevskyi.
The joint efforts of ONOVA League representatives and the communities made the first steps towards a successful start of thermal modernization in the region. Namely:
- A thorough analysis of the available resources and capabilities of communities to implement energy efficiency measures;
- educational consultations for local staff on possible options for renovating children's and medical institutions - public buildings that are primarily subject to thermal modernization.
In addition, the experts of the PU UFEES offered the communities assistance in preparing the necessary documentation for participation in the Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings in Ukraine Program, which is supported by the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Ukraine, as well as providing support in the further implementation of thermal modernization measures in public institutions.
"All the communities we visited during the working visit expressed interest in thermal modernization, as they have a clear understanding that it is through the implementation of energy efficiency measures that the country's energy independence can be achieved. Therefore, we continue to work hard together with the communities to build an energy-independent, modern, innovative and powerful Ukraine for ourselves and our descendants," commented Yegor Stefanovych on the results of the working visit to Bessarabia.
