The topic of rebuilding Ukraine and the active participation of civil society and business in this process has not lost momentum for several weeks now. On May 30, the team of Ukraine`s Renovation League ONOVA joined the Civil Society Forum "Shapes of the Future: Victory, Restoration, and Modernization of Ukraine".
Forum participants.
The Forum brought together hundreds of participants from various organizations – government, NGOs, and businesses – to discuss the most pressing issues of the day. In particular, early recovery of those areas that require rapid support (people, critical infrastructure, security). As well as modernization - it is already clear that there is no desire to rebuild what is unnecessary and inefficient.
The organizers of the Forum - the Initiative Center for Promoting the Activity and Development of Public Initiatives "Ednannia" with the support of USAID, EU programs, UNDP, and other international organizations – set out to unite efforts, coordinate actions and outline the shape of Ukraine's future.
Yehor Stefanovych and Viktor Lyakh, President of the Eastern Europe Foundation.
Particular attention was paid to cooperation with donor organizations in infrastructure reconstruction projects, as well as to the specifics of financing and reporting.
The panel discussion on the cooperation of NGOs and businesses for economic modernization proved to be useful and relevant.
Yehor Stefanovych, the chief coordinator of the ONOVA League, said:
"Transparency is one of the most important aspects of Ukraine's recovery. It is no less important than the use of the world's leading technologies in construction and energy. It`s great that this forum was held and we had the opportunity to discuss an important issue - public control over the use of donor funds in the reconstruction and business integrity. We, the ONOVA League, are actively cooperating in this area with the YouControl analytical system and other initiatives. I am also confident that the system of public control itself will continue to develop and change, along with our country."
