    ADONIS Charity Initiatives

    ADONIS Charity Initiatives

    Let's hold the line!

    The ADONIS team with dignity overcame the challenges connected with the beginning of the war in our country. The harsh new reality demanded decisive actions from the company. From the first days of the Russian attack, our doctors and staff continued to work, and sometimes literally live at work.

    Unbreakable Maternity Hospital

    On the gloomy morning of February 24, 2022, out of concern for the health of pregnant women, a medical team led by the deputy director of obstetrics and gynecology Dmytro Mykolaiovych Maslo went on duty in the now-destroyed maternity hospital in Buzova village (Kyiv Region, 34 A Sadovska St.).

    At that time, in the still-surviving Maternity hospital, there were women in labor evacuated from other hospitals of the Kyiv region. A bomb shelter was equipped there, where babies continued to be born as long as it was possible.

    On a day when an enemy military column was within half a kilometer of the building, all patients (including babies who required mechanical ventilation) and staff who had been in the basement for the past few days were successfully evacuated to another ADONIS Maternity hospital.

    And already on February 28, the Maternity hospital in Buzova was badly damaged by an enemy rocket.

    Surgical departments

    ADONIS departments, which had surgical units, continued to be on call 24 hours a day. From the first days of the war, surgeons, anesthesiologists and all personnel provided medical assistance to residents and soldiers, working in extreme conditions, despite the lack of medicines, the impossibility of seeing relatives and looking for alternative ways of moving around the city.

    Online consultations

    From the first days of the invasion, the residents of the capital and the region needed qualified medical assistance and there was a demand for online consultations, our experts, mainly pediatricians and gynecologists, provided free remote consultations. Subsequently, the company became part of online platforms for providing online consultations.

    Military rehabilitation

    On the eve of the war, in February 2022, a new medical center with a full-fledged rehabilitation department for inpatients began operating in Bucha (Nove Shosse Street, 52). Fortunately, it suffered minor damage during the battles for the city, so after the liberation of the Kyiv region, we were able to quickly repair the building and equipment. At that time, a separate unit for the rehabilitation of soldiers after injuries was created based on the center. Having received the support of charitable foundations, we were able to carry out free rehabilitation of our defenders, giving them back the opportunity to move and live a full life. So far, 52 soldiers have undergone complex programs of restorative therapy and had obvious success on the way to a healthy life.

    Other charity projects

    More than one and a half year has passed since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. During this time, ADONIS actively organized, accepted and continues to participate in various charity projects.

    Namely:

    • assistance in delivery and providing aid to all who needed it in the first days of the invasion;

    • online 24/7 consultations of pediatricians to everyone;

    • creation of the telegram bot "Turbota" for helping and coordinating patients;

    • transportation of the wounded from Kharkiv to Kyiv using ADONIS ambulances (2 wounded were transported);

    • plastic surgeons Korolyuk Serhiy Vitaliyovych @dr.korolyuk and Gryshai Serhiy Yevgeniyovych @s.gryshai provide free assistance to civilians after mine-explosive injuries;

    • cooperation with Fund «280 days» and providing services to pregnant women (35 free diagnostic packages were provided, including transvaginal ultrasound check, general blood test, and general urine test);

    • the "Mobile Unit Team" project - with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) @unicef_ukraine in Ukraine and the charitable foundation "Volunteer Movement" @volunteer_movement.ukraine, the departure of  medical teams to the affected cities of the Kyiv region were organized (in total, 120 trips were made to villages for providing  support and making examination of residents. Altogether 4,772 people were consulted);

    • assistance to wounded soldiers in the rehabilitation center in Bucha (more than 50 soldiers were rehabilitated there).

    As of March 2022, all branches of the ADONIS have resumed their work. We work regularly according to the schedule, providing Ukrainians with high-quality medical care of any complexity.

    With concern for the health of the nation, the ADONIS clinic team!
