Thermo-modernization as a key step towards the renewal of the Khmelnytsky region was the topic of the talks held by the leadership of League ONOVA with the Head of the Khmelnytsky Regional Council Violeta Labazyuk.

During the meeting, representatives of ONOVA discussed the situation in the region with the head of the regional council.

One of the challenges is the problem of internally displaced persons caused by the military actions of the Russian Federation. Local authorities and NGOs are actively working to support IDPs - measures are being taken to ensure social protection of IDPs, and provide medical and humanitarian assistance.

They are also paying close attention to the development of the region's economy, attracting investment, developing the industrial and agricultural sectors, and rebuilding schools and hospitals. 

The head of the Khmelnytsky Regional Council has expressed interest in thermal modernization. According to her, the regional council fully supports the government initiative "Energy Efficiency of Public Buildings in Ukraine", appreciates the support of the Ministry of Reconstruction and European donors, and is ready to fully support this initiative. 

The parties expressed their readiness for fruitful cooperation and focus on achieving common goals of regional renewal through the implementation of energy efficiency measures.

In addition, during the visit of Yegor Stefanovych and Oleksandr Zalevskyi to Khmelnytsky Oblast, special attention was paid to the pilot communities of the region. As part of the visit, representatives of the PU visited Khmelnytskyi, Kamianets-Podilskyi, Shepetivka, and Netishyn city councils, as well as the Yarmolynets community.

During the meetings with the heads of the communities, the benefits and opportunities that the implementation of thermal modernization will bring to their communities were discussed. It was noted that it is the local leadership that will determine the facilities to be included in the list for further thermal modernization.

"The country is being renewed by saving money through the efficient use of heat and energy. This is a global experience that our neighbors, the Baltic countries, are already successfully applying. Energy efficiency measures have an economic, social, and political effect because we are renovating social facilities - schools, kindergartens, hospitals," emphasized Yehor Stefanovych, Chairman of the Board of the PU UFEES.

During the visit to Khmelnytskyi, the representatives of League ONOVA also visited the local Energy Efficiency Center. They agreed with the head of the Center, Dmytro Leskiv, to cooperate and share the experience of thermal modernization of the Public Union and the Center throughout the region.
