We are moving to a systematic, comprehensive, transparent development and renewal of the country, and Bucha is at the forefront of this process.
Joint plans for the development of the city were confirmed during a working meeting of the ONOVA League team with the leadership of the Bucha community.
Mayor of Bucha Anatoliy Fedoruk and Chairman of the Board of the PU UFEES Yehor Stefanovych discussed aspects of further cooperation on the city's revival, interaction with donors, and search for other sources of funding for this process.
History of cooperation:
The cooperation between the Public Union "Ukrainian Fund of Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving", the initiator of the ONOVA League, and the Bucha community began in March 2022, immediately after the liberation of the Hero City from Russian invaders. Back then, as part of the humanitarian mission of the PU UFEES, Starlink terminals were transferred to the community to ensure reliable communication in the destroyed Bucha.
In April 2022, members of the League, in collaboration with the city council leadership, initiated plans to assist the community in restoring its infrastructure. It was during this time that the project to document the extent of destruction using ONOVA GIS HUB was initiated.
The first stage of the project has already been implemented: the primary data on damaged or destroyed infrastructure in Bucha, including educational, healthcare, cultural, and sports facilities, has been added to the ONOVA GIS HUB database.
A separate project, in cooperation with the Ministry of Reconstruction and the Bucha City Council, developed a dashboard that displays information about all social institutions in Bucha. This tool will help determine whether the available resources meet the needs of the community, develop plans to restore destroyed and build new children's institutions, optimize school bus routes, etc.
We are moving on to the next stage of Bucha's reconstruction - the implementation of a comprehensive plan for the revival and socio-economic development of the city based on the primary data collected in ONOVA GIS HUB.
"We are starting the next stage of cooperation with the Bucha community to identify further steps and adjust development plans in line with European standards of transparency and energy efficiency. Our common goal is to build a modern and prosperous city that will become an example of recovery based on the principle of "Build Back Better". Renovation, digitalization, and development are ahead," said Yehor Stefanovych.
"We have been actively cooperating with the ONOVA League team for more than a year on the systematic and transparent renewal of our city. We believe that through our joint efforts, Bucha will become much better than ever before. We are working hard not only for the residents of the city but also for future generations," Anatoliy Fedoruk emphasized.
